Heating & cooling in Frisco

Upstairs too warm? Let's measure the air, room by room.

Franklin repairs, maintains and replaces heating and air conditioning for Frisco homes and businesses — and fixes the rooms that never feel right by measuring what each one actually gets.

A common two-storey pattern: comfortable downstairs, warm upstairs. Often a balancing problem, not a size problem.

Why rooms differ

One system, many rooms, different needs.

Upstairs rooms sit under a hot attic and get the afternoon sun; downstairs rooms are closer to the equipment and get more than their share. Duct runs are longer to some rooms than others. Without adjustment, the system cools the easy rooms and starves the hard ones.

Balancing measures the air each room actually gets and adjusts it — dampers, registers, sometimes a duct run — until every room is close to what it needs.

Questions

About uneven rooms, and the rest.

Why is my upstairs warmer than downstairs?

Upstairs rooms sit under a hot attic and get more sun, and downstairs rooms are usually closer to the equipment. Without adjustment the system over-serves the easy rooms and under-serves the hard ones. Balancing measures each room and corrects it.

Do I need a bigger system to fix a hot room?

Usually not. A bigger system cools the rooms that are already fine even more. Measuring and balancing the airflow, and fixing any damaged ducts, is the first step.

What is airflow balancing?

Measuring how much air each room gets with a flow hood, comparing it with what the room needs, and adjusting dampers and registers until they match. We write down the before and after for every room.

Do you work on businesses as well as homes?

Yes. Offices, shops, clinics and restaurants: rooftop and split systems, HVAC for tenant finish-outs, and air balancing after a suite is re-planned.

Does Franklin do interior design or finishing?

No. Interior Experts is part of the business name, not the trade. Franklin does heating, ventilation and air conditioning only.

Which areas do you cover?
